Walter ran a small farm with his wife Joyce until she died only weeks before. Now Walter struggles with depression in his day to day duties. One Summer day during harvest Walter discovers an old water well hidden just beyond his crops. By accident Walter learns that the well has something concealed in its depths. Through trial and error he learns these depths can bring the dead back to life. After the reanimation of a cat, Walter decides to try to do the same for his lost love, Joyce. Walter must struggle through the scorching heat, horrible realities of death, and his own failing body to test the well's full capability. But unknown to Walter, the well may be his last chance at life too.
